Lise Morrow - Director
14s and 16s Head Coach; 12s Assistant Coach

Lise Morrow competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics on the Canadian Olympic Volleyball Team. She played volleyball at Western Michigan University on a full scholarship (1985-1988). During the last five years, Lise has coached competitive volleyball in the North Dallas area at the middle school, high school and club levels. Most recently, Lise was the middle school coach at Carrollton Christian Academy, 2004-2005 and the Junior Varsity coach at Greenhill School in Dallas in 2006.

Lise is an exceptional coach who stimulates a love for the game of volleyball by challenging young athletes in a positive and rewarding environment.

 

 

Todd Lyles
17s-18s Head Coach

The 2009-2010 volleyball club season will be Todd Lyles first with the Texas Titans.

Lyles brings 15 years of club and college coaching experience to Texas Titans. Lyles is also Coaching his first year with the pioneers at Texas Women's University.

As Assistant coach at Panola College in Carthage TX, he was a major impact in all aspects of coaching including strength and conditioning and recruiting. Lyles helped lead the team to a 16-14 record last season. He is also a co-director of High Octane Skills Team Camp and Junior Volleyball Coach at East Texas Juniors. Lyles served as the volleyball coach at YMCA in Houston from 1998-2001 and worked at the University of Florida volleyball camps from 1998-2000.

He is the co-founder of Texas Sports Juniors Volleyball Club, a non-profit volleyball club for nine junior high school students who desired intense training. As a director and head coach, Lyles guided his team to strong tournament finishes each season. All nine players obtained full volleyball scholarships to major universities. Additionally, two players became three-time All-Americans. Nicole McCray 3-time All-American (University of Florida) and Kristee Porter, 3-time All-American (UCLA) and was named 2000 ASICS/Volleyball Magazine Player of the Year.

Lyles graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and minor in marketing.

 

 

Susan Evans
14s Assistant Coach

Susan Evans is a former college volleyball coach and Athletic director. She brings to Texas Titans years of volleyball experience. Presently Susan is a professor of physical Education at Collins College in Plano where she teaches volleyball, weight training, and lecture classes. Susan was the first college physical education faculty member hired and was responsible for starting the women’s volleyball program.  During her six years as a college coach her teams won both conference and Regional titles. Many of her former players are successful club and high school coaches. She is impact certified and previously held CAP I and II certifications. In addition Susan is a personal trainer certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

As an athletic director she was the NJCAA Region V volleyball spokesperson for five years and was elected to the National Association of Two Year College Athletic Administrators executive committee for four years.  She has experience in college recruiting as a coach, athletic director and a parent of a Division I athlete.

Evans earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from East Stroudsburg University and a Master’s of Arts degree from Texas Women’s University. Her post gradate work includes 45 hours in Health education and 12 hours in Administration.

Susan has a passion for teaching and coaching. Her experiences include working with athletes of all ages and abilities. One of her favorite quotes is by the famous coach John Wooden, “Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”

 

 

Michiko Baker
13s Head Coach and 11s-12s Assistant Coach

Michiko Baker has over 10 years of highly competitive Volleyball experience in Japan. Michiko has gained much of her knowledge from a very influential Volleyball Guru named Kenji Kusano.

Mr. Kusano was a former Panasonic professional volleyball club team head coach for over 28 years. Mr. Kusano has spent many years researching new, safety and effective ways of coaching young people in how to be better Volleyball players. His tactics are based on many different body movement techniques that are most often found in PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) Stretching exercises, martial arts, yoga and basic human anatomy.

Michiko has coached highly competitive club teams in Japan and continues to play in area leagues and coach teams here in the US. She draws on the knowledge she continues to learn from Mr. Kusano every year when she goes back to Japan during the summer to practice her craft. While in Japan, she continues to instruct members of a highly successful club team.

Michiko started an academy in the DFW area a few years ago. She has organized and ran clinics in her area for the local schools at both elementary and junior high levels. She has experience working with different youth programs in the Dallas Area. She is IMPACT and First Aid certified.

The passion that Michiko has for the game of Volleyball is second to none.

 

 

Heather Maddox
17s and 18s Assistant Coach

Heather Maddox who is currently a setter at Texas Women's University, will be joining the Texans Titans volleyball staff for the 2009-2010 season.

2008: Played in 22 matches while making four starts in her first year at TWU...finished second on the team in assists with 156...also added 14 kills, seven service aces and 63 digs...had a season-high 20 assists in a three-game loss at Alaska Anchorage...posted 10 or more assists in five matches.

Prior to TWU: Played the first two seasons of her collegiate career across town at the University of North Texas…started all 33 of the Mean Green’s matches in 2007 and led the team with 1,338 set assists and 10.97 assists per game…also recorded 219 digs (the third most on the team), 49 kills, and 52 total blocks…as a freshman in 2006, Maddox led the UNT squad with 11.57 assists per game…her 590 total assists were the most by a UNT fresh man since Kim Brunette in 1996…at the Sam Houston State Tournament September 1-2, 2006, Maddox dished out 191 assists, the most in a four-match span by a North Texas player since 2003…her 62 assists in a four-game win over Western Illinois on September 16, 2006, were a season high for UNT in 2006.

High School: Was a volleyball standout at Boerne (Texas) High School… picked for the All-District 28-4A first team as both a junior and senior…also garnered first-team All-State, All-City, and All-Region accolades following her 2004 junior campaign…played club volleyball for the Alamo Volleyball Club and the Centex Volleyball Association.

Personal: Heather Nicole was born on February 5, 1988, and is the daughter of Scott and Jolane Maddox…a nutrition and food sciences major…active at The Village Church in Highland Village, Texas…when not busy with volleyball, she enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling.

 

 

Amber Monter
15s Head Coach

This is Amber’s third year as a Texas Titans coach. She was responsible for coaching the U 15’s and U16’s. Her teams consistently competed in the gold and silver brackets. Her teams have finished in the top twenty teams of the North Texas region.

Previous to the Titans, Amber coached U14’s and U15’s for Xtreme Power volleyball club. She began her volleyball career at the age of twelve playing middle blocker for both school and club teams. Amber played for the Gulf Coast Juniors in the Houston area. During her high school career she earned the honors of team MVP, 1st & 2nd Team-All District, All-Tournament team, and was Captain of the volleyball team for two years. In addition to her success as a volleyball player she was an outstanding soccer player for her high school and club soccer team.

Amber attended McNease State University on a four year Division I soccer scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education. Following graduation she taught eleventh grade English and coached the JV volleyball and soccer teams at Trinity High School in Euless and Flower Mound High School.

 

 

Ashley Bailey
12s Head Coach

Ashley Bailey will be joining the Texas Titans coaching staff after completing her senior volleyball season at Stephen F Austin’s this fall. Ashley has played middle blocker for the Lumberjacks all four years. Last year she was All-Southland Conference honorable mention and this year a preseason All SLC team selection. She has already been selected twice as Southland Conference Player of the Week for her outstanding offensive and defensive play this season. Ashley, a Kinesiology major, will bring her teaching and coaching skills to the Texas Titans at the end of this college season. She will be working with the U12’s team. Coach Bailey is very excited about the opportunity to work with the young players and with Coach Lise. In addition to her experience as a player she has spent her summers working volleyball camps and training with varies coaches.

In High school Ashley was a standout volleyball and basketball player for Mesquite High School. While at MHS she earned first team all district honors two years in a row in both volleyball and basketball along with many other athletic accomplishments.

Bailey a standout both offensively and defensively as well, averaging 3.15 kills and 1.31 blocks per set and hitting .341 for the Ladyjacks wins over the weekend. She tallied eight and seven kills, respectively, in wins over Alcorn State and Houston on Friday and even rejected a pair of shots against the Lady Braves and six more against the Cougars. On Saturday, though, she was even better. The senior slammed home 11 kills on just 22 swings with five blocks - one solo - in a non-conference win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She then followed that with a 15-kill, four-block performance against Miami (OH) in four sets to give SFA its first ever win over the Redhawks.
